Morzine Transfer. Providing transfers from Geneva to Morzine and the surround villages.

Morzine Transfer is a new business based in the Morzine and surrounding valleys delivering a Morzine Transfer service.

Morzine transfer operate transfers from geneva to morzine in comfortable, modern and clean 8 passenger minibuses.

Website Design

We undertook the logo and website design for Morzine Transfer with a specification for the web site to have a very clean and simple interface, maximising the readability and usability.

The client also required an intelligent booking form that allowed the flexibility to book transfers from Geneva to Morzine, Avoriaz, Les Gets, Montriond and St Jean d’Aulps. The form had to be designed in such a way that clients could get an instant quote without having to submit any personal details (other than their start and end destinations).

It was also imperative not to quote for a transfer for routes that weren’t catered for, from Morzine to Les Gets for example.

The form then goes on to collect all the relevant details of the transfer and allows both single and return transfers to be specified in either direction.

Chalets Morzine is a new website for an existing company offering ski and snowboard holidays in Morzine, France.

The Design

Chalets Morzine is a fresh look and feel for an existing brand (Custom Breaks).

One of the major requirements for the new look and feel were to improve the freshness of the website so that it had more of an instant appeal. Other key requirements were to greatly improve the readability of the text and to ease the burden of the site navigation.

The existing website had plenty of content that was well organised but was a little difficult to navigate. The navigation also took up around 20% of each page of the site.

The new design was to act as a micro site for the main website to test the reaction from site visitors to the new branding and design.

The Chalets Morzine design will later be adopted by the full site owned by Custom Breaks.

Ski Mobile is a small, friendly mobile ski and snowboard rental service, based in Morzine, Les Gets, St Jean d'Aulps and Essert Romand.

The Design

The Ski Mobile website was designed from scratch with a look and feel to support the existing logo and brand which the company already used.

Based upon the latest web technologies, this kind of website is more commonly termed a web application. It delivers an intuitive and quick method to book online ski hire in Morzine and surrounding villages.

Web site visitors are able to look at the equipment provided for hire as well as determine the prices before they enter the booking system. Upon starting a new order, a few personal details are collected to facilitate the setup of a new order before leading the client directly into the selection of ski and snowboard packages.

The system was carefully designed so that clients could save and share orders with friends and family as was commonly the case when orders where taken directly by phone or email. Sharing an order greatly improves the experience as the party leader will already have recorded common details such as holiday dates and times, their accommodation and scheduled delivery times leaving those sharing the order the simple task of adding one or more ski/snowboard packages.

Ski Mobile Owner Experience

The owners of Ski Mobile are able to login to the system via the web and view or amend all of the orders held in the system as well as pull up a number of reports. Staff are able to work from wherever they have access to an Internet connection.

Staff are able to display the orders for each day in a number of formats that permits them to print detailed order summaries allowing them to determine stock levels, collate new orders and make the relevant deliveries to their clients’ accommodation.

A beautiful and superior chalet, with panoramic mountain views, Boutique Ski's vision is to provide a personalised, flexible and memorable holiday.

The Re-Design

The re-design of Boutique Ski was carefully though out to preserve the look and feel / branding of the websites’ original design.

Big improvements were made with the navigation that now follows a much more intuitive approach with key navigation elements such as home and contact exactly where the majority of users expect to find them.

The contact telephone number was made more evident and included on each and every page of the site in order to increase the flow of new enquiries.

Clarity

The re-design also included a number of minor improvements which collectively improve the clarity of the website:

New contact form requiring minimal input to create a new enquiry.

Strong and bold headings

Increased font size to improve readability.

Increased line spacing to improve readability.

Creative use of new and existing photography.

Custom Breaks is a morzine chalet company offering catered and self catered ski and snowboard holidays in Morzine, Portes du Soleil.

The Design

The Custom Breaks website was designed to clearly and attractively present the chalet holidays on offer during both the winter and summer holidays seasons in Morzine.

Currently, Custom Breaks operate two ski chalets in Morzine, Chalet Alice and Chalet Abby. The design had to clearly convey that Chalet Alice is a fully catered chalet open during the winter only and that Chalet Abby is a self-catered (or catered) chalet available in both winter and summer.

Emphasis was given to highlighting the fantastic photos of the two chalets to allow site visitors to quickly see where they might be staying. It was also important to be able to quickly publicise late deals and special offers.

Morzine Information

Custom Breaks also felt it important to retain their web site visitors once they had arrived at their site. To do this, the site was designed in such a way that the visitor can not only research their accommodation, but also research Morzine itself. Site visitors are able to research the following :

Morzine Lift Pass

Morzine Piste Map

Morzine Webcam

The site also offers a great deal of information on outdoor pursuits available in Morzine such as canyoning, white water rafting, kayaking, hrdrospeeding, skiing, snowboarding, Morzine restaurants and Morzine bars.

A ski and snowboard rental shop based in Morzine that specialises in online reservation and delivery of winter sports equipment.

Holidaymaker Experience

The All Mountain Rental website was designed to allow holiday makers to research the equipment available for hire and to then book their ski/snowboard equipment in advance so that it is ready and waiting when they arrive on holiday. The site was designed and built from scratch and delivers an intuitive and easy online ordering process that is familiar to web users. One website currently acts as the reservation system for shop stores in Morzine and Verbier.

.. delivers an intuitive and easy online ordering process ..

Based upon the concept of a shopping cart/basket, holiday makers select their equipment and add it to the basket. They are then requested to personalise each equipment reservation with their name, age, sex, height, weight and other criteria that allows the shop to set-up the equipment ready for delivery.

The website was also designed with the concept of sharing an order within a group of holidaymakers. Knowing that large groups would necessitate more than one person to reserve equipment, each order can easily be shared and added to or modified at any time.

Emails are automatically sent out by the system upon completion of an order. A reminder is also sent 2 days before they leave to go on holiday, again summarising their order ready for printing should they wish to take a printed copy on holiday.

Client Experience

Staff at all mountain rental are able to log-in to the website and perform vital administration tasks immediately and without fuss including viewing and editing existing orders.

Staff are also able to view detailed web statistics, revealing the number of visitors to the website each day, their behaviour whilst on the website as well as data showing conversion rates (those making reservations compared to number of site visitors).

The website also tightly integrates to All Mountain Rentals existing software systems allowing orders placed via the website to be downloaded into store based software for further processing.

During the busy winter months with guests coming and going every weekend, sunshine powder days and socialising, it is very easy to forget how important it is each to have each of your desktop and laptop computers backed up regularly.

Computer breakdowns (like vehicle breakdowns) always happen when you least need them.

Computers can be fixed but sometimes the data they held is gone forever.

All those important invoices, guest emails, payment records and so on … lost permanently.

Reasons for Breakdown

Computers can break down for a number of reasons but the most troublesome (and among the most frequent) is a hard drive failure.

The hard drive stores your emails, client contacts, accounts, invoices, word/excel documents, databases, your programs…. everything that you work on or with.

When did you last backup?

As I mentioned earlier, the last thing you have on your mind (or even want to think about) is when you last backed up your computer.

If you have backed up recently, did you remember to back up everything (including your emails) and more importantly, did you verify the backup?

There is nothing worse than trying to restore from a backup disk to find that the disk cannot be read.

No Hassle Backups

Here are a list of points to consider when setting up your backup plan.

Choose a system that starts automatically when you turn on your computer.

Choose a system that backs up to the internet (protecting you against dropped and damaged backup disks, fire, floods etc.)

Choose a system that is easy to use.

Contact Me for Advice

For an easy to use and cheap backup plan, please feel free to contact me for advice.

Reach Your Peak is a morzine ski school offering quality English speaking ski tuition in Avoriaz, Morzine & les Gets.

The Design

The Reach Your Peak website was re-designed to fit in with an existing logo and brand.

One of the main requirements of the website was to clearly advertise the different types of ski tuition available from ski instructor Herve Gaillard and to emphasise his focus on delivering a more personalised service.

The website focuses the attention of the site visitor directly into the four types of ski tuition offered :

Private and One to One

Small Group Lessons

Off Piste and Adventure

Corporate

Primary Goal

The primary goal of the website is to lead the web site visitor into making an enquiry that will hopefully lead to a new booking. To facilitate this, the website has been designed to :

Cleary show the booking telephone number on every page of the website.

Easily allow the site visitor to make an email enquiry via an online booking form.

Show the experiences of previous clients on the comments page.
