Computer viruses always happen when you least need them and can cause very serious problems.
Irritating
At the least they can be very irritating, stopping you working quickly and efficiently by preventing programs from opening or closing open programs without warning.
Expensive
At worst a virus constantly warns you that your computer is infected by a virus (other than itself of course) and tries to coerce you into buying their ‘virus protection software’ from their website. This is a very common virus designed to capture your credit card details via the web for very different, illegal and expensive uses.
Destructive
Even more harmful computer viruses can leave the data on your machine permanently destroyed within minutes of infection.
Protection
There are a number of virus protection programs available on the web, some that are free and some that are attached to a yearly subscription. It is always important to ensure that your virus software is up to date and connects to the Internet each day to obtain the latest virus definitions (lists of viruses and how to protect against them).
It is also important that Windows (or other operating system) is also regularly updating itself to help protect against viruses.
Virus protection is always ongoing and it is important for you to be able to manage the process yourself.
I can give you a no-nonsense lesson in the comfort of your own home or office to ensure that you remain fully protected against viruses. It’s not as difficult as you might think.
